My father was diagnosed with cancer. And I flew down there and spoke with his oncologist while he was still in the hospital. They said, "With aggressive chemotherapy, it's possible to extend that to one to two years." And so everyone was pretty optimistic, at least having a little more time with him. So he came home for one night and died the next day. It was so fast. One thing my husband noticed at the time was that I was not grieving, I was in logistics mode. I was making sure everything was taken care of because my mom was the one falling apart. But one day it just sort of all hit me at once and I broke down, and for a second didn't know what to do.
